Why Your Sex Life can Suffer During IVF

In-vitro fertilization treatment can be costly and stressful. Find out why your sex life can suffer during IVF.

As if IVF Treatments weren’t stressful enough, a new study shows that couples going through IVF treatments can have problems in their sex lives as well. The study, conducted by Indiana University, shows us that a couple’s relationship and sexual satisfaction can really suffer while going through IVF treatments. This is a very interesting study, since minimal attention has been given to couples going through IVF therapy. Continue reading to find out more about what the study has shown. More stress

Of course, it is a given that a couple undergoing IVF treatments will be experiencing a great deal of stress. IVF is a very expensive treatment, and it is not guaranteed to work. It’s just a game of chance, and couples have to try it and hope for the best. IVF usually also comes after couples have failed to be able to get pregnant on their own. This means that by the time they get to IVF, they are already feeling stressed. Stress can be a really huge factor in relationship and sexual problems during IVF.

No romance

Another common complaint among women undergoing IVF is that they feel like a science experiment. The fact that sex and treatments are all on a timed schedule can take all of the romance out of sex, and can really be a turn off for a lot of women. A lot of women feel like IVF is only about making babies, and should be all business. For this reason, couples are often reluctant to talk to their doctors when they are having sexual problems as a result of IVF. They often feel like they shouldn’t bother their doctor with problems that are not “baby related”.

Hormonal changes

During IVF treatments, women experience a ton of hormonal changes and issues. During these hormonal changes, women may not feel like themselves. This can cause them to be more distant to their partners, and they may not be interested in sex. The hormonal changes that IVF treatments can cause are a huge source of relationship and sexual problems in couples undergoing IVF.

Body changes

IVF treatments also can cause body changes in women. Some women experience excessive vaginal dryness during IVF. Other women experience pain during sex, or are unable to orgasm. The longer a woman undergoes IVF treatments, the worse the sexual side effects can become, the study notes.

What to do

Don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor about sexual issues or relationship problems that you might be having during your IVF treatments. Your doctor will be able to help you and your partner work through the issues that you are having and get your relationship back on the right track.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over a year. He has been tested and I took Clomid for 4 months with no success. My doctor is planning to start me on Serophene next month. Would FertiBella be safe to take with other medications? I also take medicine for an Hypothyroidism and PCOS, levothyroxine and Metformin. Can you please help before I order?

Yes, Fertibella ConceiveEasy is a 100% drug-free, natural solution, considered safe when taken alongside most prescription or non-prescription medications. However, it is recommended that you make an appointment with your doctor to discuss any medications that you may be taking.
