What Should I Do to Get Pregnant on the First Try?

It’s time to try

For most women, the decision to try to get pregnant is a huge one. It takes most women quite a while to decide when it is the perfect time to have a baby, so the decision is definitely an important one. However, most women don’t want to wait forever to get pregnant. If you want to get pregnant on the first try, there are a few things you can try to boost your chances. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

Know your cycle

The most important thing that you can do for your fertility is to know when you ovulate. There are only a few short days during a woman’s cycle when she is able to get pregnant, and those are the days during ovulation. You have to know when those days are so you can boost your chances of getting pregnant right away. Otherwise, you might have to try for a very long time before you hit that “window”.

There are many ways to figure out when you ovulate. You can chart your temperature each day with a special basal body thermometer, or you can buy an over the counter ovulation predictor kit. You can also note the changes in your cervical mucus to figure out when ovulation is occurring.

Have sex at the right time

Once you know when you are ovulating, make sure that you have sex as much as possible during that period. This will up your chances of getting pregnant on the first try.

Most doctors recommend having sex the day before ovulation (sperm can live for several days longer than the egg, so it can be waiting for the egg to be released!), again on the day of ovulation, and then again every other day during ovulation. If you have sex on these days during an ovulatory cycle, you are likely to get pregnant on the first try.

Don’t give yourself any problems

We all know that there are many different things that can hurt your chances of conceiving, and in order to give yourself the best chance of getting pregnant on the first try, you should avoid all things that could cause problems. This includes smoking, drinking and of course, using illegal drugs. All of these things can make it very hard for you to conceive.

Make sure that you are maintaining a healthy weight as well, since being overweight or underweight can both make it harder to conceive. Eating a healthy, well balanced diet is also a great way to get all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that you need to make you as fertile as you can.

See a doctor

If you have any underlying issues that might contribute to making it harder for you to conceive, you might want to consider seeing a doctor to make sure that everything is okay. Your doctor might be able to take a look at your family history and your health issues and see if there are any tips you should be following to up your chances of getting pregnant on the first try. If you haven’t seen a doctor in awhile, that is a great place to start before you begin trying to conceive.
