Chinese gender calendar

Many pregnant women turn to the Chinese gender calendar for their baby’s gender. With Chinese calendars, the baby’s gender is predicted by the month of conception and the mother’s birthday.

The most common and reliable way to detect the baby’s gender is through the ultrasound, of course. As long as your baby is not “shy” and keeping his/her gender to her himself/herself, then parents will eventually know.

Wedding ring test

How it works is you take a thread and your wedding ring and hold the dangling ring over the pregnant belly while she’s lying down. They say that if the ring swings back and forth, it’s a boy. If it swings in a circular motion, it’s a girl.

Carrying high or carrying low

Others believe that they can determine the baby’s gender through the mom’s belly. Where you are carrying your baby is meant to tell whether it’s a boy or girl you are carrying. If it’s high, it means a girl and if it is low, it’s a boy. However, there is no scientific proof to validate this theory.

The Drano test

Those who believe in this say that all you have to do is pee in a small cup, add a tablespoon of Drano and wait for the color to change. If the pee color turns green, it means a girl. However, the use of this method has been discouraged due to the chemicals present in Drano that could hurt you or your child.

Some couples do not want their baby’s gender revealed until the day they give birth. That is also fun and ideal, especially when moms want to keep everything neutral when it comes to the color since she’s unaware of the gender. Whatever the couple decides on, whether to wait till the baby is born or not in order to know the gender, it is completely up to them.
