April and Brad Dooley of Long Beach, California, decided that they wanted to have another baby. They wanted to give their five year old daughter, Kaitlyn, a companion and a sibling to grow up with. What they got was something else altogether! Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here
You see, on January 13, April Dooley did give birth- but it wasn’t to the one sibling she had envisioned for Kaitlyn. Instead, it was to a trio of adorable, tiny, completely naturally conceived triplet boys!
Yes, that’s right! April and Brad Dooley conceived identical triplet boys with no fertility treatments whatsoever. To say that this is a rare feat would be the understatement of the year: the likelihood of conceiving identical triplets with no fertility treatments is somewhere around one in 100 million.
Talk about rare! April and Brad Dooley said that they certainly weren’t expecting their family to double in size when they decided to have another baby.
The trio of boys, named Liam, Owen, and Patrick, weighed in at a combined 14 pounds, 9 ounces, and they are all healthy and doing great. April Dooley is doing great too, although understandably overwhelmed and exhausted.
She still remembers the moment she found out that she was expecting triplets: ‘My husband said, ‘Is that three?’ I go, ‘Three what?’ My husband said, ‘three babies.’ I burst into tears,’ she told the Orange County Register.’There was nothing out of the normal,’ April said. ‘We were trying for one more time. I had had two miscarriages. We were just trying one more time to get pregnant. I would say it’s a gift from God.”
While the second grade teacher knows it will be a wild ride, she is very excited for her journey to begin as a mom of four!
While super rare, the Dooley’s triplets are the second known set of natural triplets born in California in the past several months. On November 22, Laurel, Brinn, and Abby Hepner were born to Hannah and Tom Hepner of Quincy, California.
Maybe these three little men and those three little ladies will grow up to be close friends, since they have something in common that not many people can relate too! Plus, it makes you think, is there something in that California water?? It sure does make ya think! We wish both of these new families lots of luck and love in their future.
