In the excitement and haste to get pregnant, you may mistake signs or see signs of pregnancy when they are actually not present. The classic sign of pregnancy is the presence of hCG or human chorionic gonadotropin hormone in the body. It is the production of this hormone that results in most of the symptoms of pregnancy. You can identify these symptoms to see if you are pregnant.
Just like that, there are numerous different signs to tell you that you have not conceived and are not pregnant. Your job is to be aware of the changes in your body and to watch your menstrual cycle closely. If you do so, you will be able to tell whether you are pregnant with ease. Here are some signs that you are not pregnant.
If you see that you have gotten your period as you always do, know that you are not pregnant. If you are pregnant, menstruation will stop and you won’t have periods. Some women may experience light bleeding known as implantation bleeding about ten days after conceiving.
The difference between this bleeding and normal bleeding is that the prior is very light and may be pink or brown in color. Also, it does not last for long. It is a very short and light period. Your normal period will be just like your other periods and it will last for at least four days and will be comparably heavier.
If you are pregnant, within a few days of conception you will feel numerous different symptoms such as tender breasts, swollen breasts, vomiting, nausea, backache, more urination, and headaches. These symptoms occur due to the many hormonal changes in your body in preparation of the pregnancy. If you don’t feel any of these symptoms and if you have your normal menstrual cycle on time, you are not pregnant.
Another classic sign of pregnancy is fatigue and extreme tiredness. It is a given that if you are pregnant you will feel very tired for no reason and your energy levels will be down. This is again because of hormonal changes and because your body requires more energy now that you are pregnant. If you feel active and see no signs of fatigue or tiredness, you are not pregnant.
You may go wrong with a home pregnancy test and have a false negative test but a blood test will never lie. Thus, if you go to the doctor and the blood test reveals that you are not pregnant, that is it. You should go back home and continue trying to get pregnant. If you are still not satisfied, you can go for an ultrasound to check if the fetus is present. Absence of fetus will tell you that you are not pregnant.
