In celebration of their five year wedding anniversary, as well as their twins Monroe and Morrocan’s second birthdays, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey renewed their vows in a lavish Disneyland ceremony last week. The couple shut down the entire theme park for the ceremony, which was attended by around 250 very special guests.
Mariah looked just like Cinderella in her white sparkly princess gown, and Nick looked just like a Disney Prince with his white and gold double breasted jacket. Little Morrocan wore a tiny suit just like dad’s and Princess Monroe was all decked out in a white poofy gown just like mommy’s! Too cute! Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here
The couple have continued the tradition of renewing their vows each and every year, and this year they chose the Happiest Place On Earth to do it! Mariah and daughter Monroe boarded a horse drawn crystal carriage, just like Cinderella, to take them down Main Street and drop them off at Cinderella’s Castle, where Morrocan and daddy Nick Cannon patiently awaited their arrival! All four of them walked down the aisle together.
After the ceremony, everyone made their way to Fantasyland where there was a huge reception, featuring 15,000 flowers and 10,000 crystals. Nick Cannon even deejayed the event, and the entire park was shut down so guests could ride with no wait!
Does this year’s vow renewal live up to last year’s? Well, last year the couple celebrated in Paris under the Eiffel Tower..So how in the world did they come up with the Disneyland idea? Nick shared some insight into the thought process:
“Last year, we did the kids’ first birthday and our fourth wedding anniversary in Paris in the Eiffel Tower, so it was like, ‘How are we gonna top that?’ And the thing was, that [the Paris trip] was great, but we didn’t have the opportunity to invite family and friends because we were out there, so we were like, this time, we need a place that everyone can come to. And, you know, [we] shut down Disneyland.”
Nick goes on to mention the foursome’s lavish outifits, saying, “We both like to dress up, that’s what we love to do and that’s keeping that fun going.”
So, what’s on the agenda for next year?
“I don’t know what we’re gonna do next year, I think we’re just gonna keep it simple. Maybe we’ll do hillbilly wedding or something.”
The theme of Nick and Mariah’s vow renewal was “Do you believe in fairy tales?” It’s not so much of a stretch. Nick came from modest means, and grew up to be extremely successful marrying one of pop’s biggest stars and having two beautiful babies. Nick touched on a little bit of his past, recently discussing his upcoming special on E!
“I grew up in Section 8 housing and my grandmother and grandfather helped raise me,” he told E. “Once I made a little bit of money, I bought them a house, but I never got an opportunity to kinda finish it. We did this thing where it’s a big surprise where I had to pull my grandparents out of that house and finally got the opportunity to redecorate.”
