A delivery contest?

It’s a baby on the way! Beautiful former “Home and Away” star Kate Richie has announced that she is expecting her first baby with hubby Stuart Webb. The guys tried to talk her into allowing a few listeners to come along for the baby’s birth, but Kate didn’t seem to excited about that idea! Tim Backwell asked:

“How can we cover this in a nice FM way? Maybe we’ll send some listeners along for the birth?”

However, Kate sarcastically replied

“Thanks, guys, that’s just my style!”

Tim added: “We could have a one-way mirror in the birthing suite with 10 lucky listeners on the other side and you can bring your iPhones along and film it.”

Kate did not seem too keen on that idea!

The official announcement

Kate took to her Facebook page on Saturday to confirm her pregnancy, and addressed the fact that she had denied being pregnant as recently as January.

“IT IS WITH GREAT EXCITEMENT that Stuart and I announce we are expecting our first child. We can assure you that any secrecy up to this moment has been nothing more than us protecting what is most sacred – a new life that was far from reaching its 12 week milestone. Thank you to all who have respected our privacy over these past weeks allowing us the privilege every couple deserves – to share the wonderful news ourselves. It really is such a special time for us and we couldn’t be happier! KR x”.

Congratulations to both Stuart and Kate on their special delivery!

Kate’s life

Kate and Stuart started dating way back in 2008, and wed in a super secret ceremony in 2010. Kate Ritchie has been in the spotlight since she was a kid! She started playing Sally Fletcher on “Home and Away” back in 1988, and continued to play the role for the next 20 years! She left the show in 2008,but she has been featured in a few episodes since then, in a storyline commemorating the 25th anniversary of the show.

The storyline saw Sally’s fight to save her daughter Pippa, who was suffering from a terminal illness. It was a very emotional storyline and fans were happy to see Sally Fletcher back on the show. We wish Kate and Stuart lots of luck on their pregnancy and we can’t wait to see their adorable new baby!
