Reach Out

The most important thing to remember if you have been trying to get pregnant for a very long time, is to know when you should reach out and get help from a professional. If you are over age 35, and have been trying to get pregnant for over six months with no success, then it is time to seek professional help.

If you are under age 35 and have been trying to conceive for more than a year, then it is time to seek professional help. Don’t be afraid to seek help from a fertility specialist. Sometimes, fertility problems might not be as bad as they seem, and a fertility specialist will be able to see things in a new perspective and can offer advice and tips that you might not have considered yet.

Do Everything In Your Power

We have all heard of couples who have been trying to conceive for ten years with no success, and when they make one simple change, BAM!, it happens. Don’t take any chances, and make sure that you are doing everything in your power to get pregnant. That means avoid smoking, drug use, and alcohol. Maintain a healthy weight, and make sure that you eat a healthy diet.

Try your best to avoid stress, and exercise regularly. Make sure that you are taking a prenatal vitamin, and consider getting started on some fertility herbs. You might also want to consider alternative treatments like fertility massage or acupuncture therapy. Learn to pinpoint your fertile days.

In short, make sure that you are leaving no stone unturned, and make sure that you are doing everything in your power to get pregnant. Track your cycles, know when you are fertile, have sex on your fertile days, whatever you can do. Give it your all, and make sure you are doing your very best.

Consider Alternative Options

No one wants to consider it, but there does come a point in time when if you are not getting pregnant, that you just might have to consider that fact that it is not meant to be. This isn’t meant to be discouraging or depressing, only to remind couples that there are other options available.

If conceiving naturally is just not an option, always keep alternative methods in mind. There are always surrogates, donor eggs and adoption that can be great options for couples who can’t conceive naturally, as well as other options too. Just don’t give up. If you want to become a parent, there are many different options available to you.

Although it might not be the “traditional” path to parenthood, there is always a way. Keep your head up, and never stop trying to achieve your dreams.
