If there ever was a celebrity that could be the greatest role model out there for pregnant women, we would have to give the honor to Drew Barrymore. The beautiful actress/cosmetics guru and mom to Olive, 13 months, is expecting her second child with hubby Will Kopelman, and she’s speaking directly to her fellow pregnant ladies. Drew recently opened up to Women’s Health with a special message for other mommies to be: Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here
“You’re not supposed to look perfect while you’re making babies—making babies is the perfection.” Drew revealed. “It’s about feeling good in clothes and knowing you can get dressed up in an evening and work it for a minute,” she explains. “You know, maybe get back into a certain pair of jeans, but there’s just no such thing as perfection. If you’re trying to get there, you’re just torturing yourself.” Great advice that all moms to be and new mommies can take to heart!
The cosmetics guru is known for her great sense of style and her awesome Flower Brand line of cosmetics, but she’s offering up beauty tips of another kind for pregnant chicks! Drew says it’s not about the makeup, the body, or even the clothes! Want to hear her secret?
“My main beauty tip is don’t say that negative thing when you look in the mirror. It just isn’t healthy,” she advises. “That lack of beating up on ourselves—that’s my new mantra. Happiness is the best makeup; a smile is better than any lipstick you’ll put on.” How refreshing!
What we have always loved about Drew Barrymore is that she is so down to earth, and so relate-able. She isn’t a celebrity that has her head in the clouds, or comes off as condescending. She really seems like she could be your best friend, and we love that about her! Drew admits that becoming a mom (and soon a mom of two!) has really shifted her focus, and forces her to really consider every choice she makes now.
“Everything I’m going to do is going to have a real consciousness toward, ‘Is this a job I can do and still get home in time for dinner and have days where I get to do every diaper change?’” She continues, “Then I’m going to have to go out on certain days and work and not try to feel like the guiltiest person on the planet, which every mother understands.”
Yes, we do! We can’t wait to help Drew and Will welcome their new bundle of joy! She’s a great mom and we always love hearing her advice and thoughts! We’ll be following her throughout her pregnancy!
