Deion Sanders had a great victory in court recently, when a judge ruled in his favor in the ongoing custody battle between Deion and his ex wife Pilar. The judge ruled that the NFL legend should be the one who decides where his three children should live. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here
The judge ruled that all three of Deion’s kids with Pilar should live with him, and that he gets both physical and legal custody of the kiddos. This is a huge win for Sanders, who has been in this custody battle with his ex for over two years now.
Pilar and Deion were married for fourteen years (!) before he filed for divorce in 2011. But, now, Deion is speaking out, and coming clean that he knew Pilar was probably after money, even all those years ago. Deion says:
“I took care of business 14 years ago before we walked down the aisle,” he said referring to his iron-clad pre-nup. “The truth of the matter is, when you have to take care of business before you walk down the aisle, you know something will go down eventually. That’s the truth of the matter. And then when a person asks for $100,000 before you get married, you gotta know what time it is. But you stupid enough, young and dumb and do it anyway.”
Ouch! Sounds like Mr. Sanders had his suspicions all along about Pilar. However, Deion made sure that he had a great pre-nup before they got married, and it entitles Pilar to a cool $1 million dollars. However, Pilar is fighting for even more than that, and Deion says it’s because of all the lawyer bills she has racked up during their lengthy custody battle.
“The pre-nup is what it is,” said Deion. “Unfortunately, our pre-nup is a million dollars, and she ran up $1.4 million in attorney’s fees. You can do the math.”
Wow! Deion also called the whole ongoing legal battle with Pilar nothing but a “paper chase” and says that all she is concerned about is getting their mansion, and making sure that their 14 year old marriage was annulled.
While it is a huge victory that Deion has been granted custody of all three children, his financial and legal battle with Pilar is still far from over. She continues to contest the prenup, and says that even some of her initials were forged on the pages over 14 years ago.
She wants more than the $100,000 per year she was supposed to be awarded. She is only entitled to $1 million, since that is where the cap was set. While the custody issue has been settled, we are sure that there is still more to come as far as the assets and financial issues are concerned.
