The whole music world cheered for Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, and hubby actor Josh Duhamel, when they announced in early 2013 that they were expecting their first child together! Fergie and Josh had been talking about bringing a baby into the family for a long time, and everyone was super excited when Fergie made the big announcement via Twitter! The baby buzz around these two has been in full force for quite some time, and they have been denying the pregnancy rumors for EVER, so we are sure it is nice for them to finally be able to let the good news out of the bag!
Fergie is 37, and hubby Josh Duhamel is 40. This is the first baby for both of them. While there are plenty of moms out there (especially in Hollywood) who give birth over age 35, what does that mean for the mom to be? We have no official word (and probably never will) on whether or not the couple turned to fertility treatments to get pregnant.
We know that fertility declines after age 30, and then drops again dramatically after age 35, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the couple had to undergo fertility treatments. It does most likely, however, mean that Fergie’s pregnancy will be considered “high risk” and that she will need to be watched closely during the remainder of the pregnancy. Not that that is a bad thing.
Both Fergie and Josh seem absolutely thrilled about their new bundle of joy! The Black Eyed Peas songstress recently told E! News:
“We’re having so much fun, we’re just dreaming and getting excited,” she said. “He speaks to my tummy and sings to it… He wants to get the vibrations of his voice into the child. It’s quite hilarious.”
Awww, that is so sweet! The couple have been spotted out and about a ton in Hollywood, nursery shopping and preparing for their little one!
Oh, and if any of you girls were wondering what kind of daddy Josh is going to be, you can bet, he’s going to be awesome! Fergie reveals:
“He’s been amazing … He’s so nice and wonderful, and he sings and talks to my belly all of the time. He’s very complimentary. I’m very lucky that he is really good to me.
‘He’s going to be an amazing father. He’s got natural parenting instincts. He wanted to knock me up from our first date. He’s ready.”
We can’t wait to see these two in parenting action! We are sure they are going to be an amazing mom and dad!
