We all know that 2013 is the year of Beyonce! With her amazing Super Bowl performance, appearance on Oprah’s Next Chapter, and her HBO documentary “Life Is But A Dream”, we are seeing a much more intimate look at Queen Bey than we have ever seen before. However, she recently opened up about a subject that surprised a lot of people: She regrets performing again so soon after baby Blue Ivy was born. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here
Beyonce recently told Shape magazine that she didn’t really have a choice in losing the 57 pounds that she gained during pregnancy with Blue Ivy. She says:
“I didn’t have a lot of time to lose the weight because I scheduled a show three months after I gave birth, which I would never do again!” she laughed.
She didn’t really get to enjoy her time after having Blue Ivy because she knew that her show was coming up and that she had to get herself back in shape. She might have taken longer to get back to her pre-pregnancy weight if she hadn’t had that show hanging over her head.
Although it is good that she did get the weight off and get back in shape, it’s no good for any woman to feel pressured into losing weight. We hate to think that Beyonce might not have enjoyed her time with Blue Ivy when she was brand new because she was too worried about getting back in shape.
Bey says that going to the gym so soon after giving birth was out of the question, and she quickly got bored with going to the gym and leaving her baby girl. Instead, Bey says that she got back in shape by running on the treadmill and actually lost most of her weight by eating right.
Bey says that she actually lost around 80% of her baby weight by switching to a low calorie diet after Blue Ivy was born. However, she does say that after her tour this year she might try to get pregnant again, so she might need to go back to that healthy eating routine sooner rather than later!
Beyonce says that she loves being Blue Ivy’s mom, and that she is working hard to make sure she knows how perfect and beautiful she is. All women grow up with a body stigma, even little girls, and Beyonce doesn’t want Blue Ivy to ever think that she has to conform to someone else’s ideas of what perfect is.
She says that she never wants Blue Ivy to feel pressured, and she wants her to embrace the unique things that make her special, even if others don’t like those things. Isn’t that what every mother wants for her kids? We wish Beyonce and Baby Blue Ivy nothing but the best, and we are sure that she will grow up to be a great young lady!
