Cervical changes

Once you become pregnant, the cervix begins to move down into a lower position. This position is much lower than what you are used to if you do have experience checking your cervix manually. If you are used to checking your cervix, you will also know that the cervix will become softer during pregnancy. It may even seem like the cervix becomes disconnected, it drops so far down and becomes so soft. You might not notice these changes at all, unless you are already used to checking your cervix by yourself. If you have experience in that area, then you will be able to notice these cervical changes.

Mucus changes

You do need to know that your cervical mucus will change when you become pregnant. The cervical mucus during pregnancy becomes very much more slippery than usual. You will no longer see the egg white cervical mucus that you might have become used to. As your pregnancy progresses, your cervical mucus will actually turn into your mucus plug. As your pregnancy progresses, your cervical mucus will almost completely dry up. This is completely normal as well, and should not be a cause for concern. Of course, if you have a question or concern about your cervical mucus, just talk to your doctor.

Characteristics of mucus in early pregnancy

Cervical mucus in early pregnancy is typically white, creamy, and odorless. It is normal to see increasing cervical mucus levels during the beginning of pregnancy, even so much so that it might cause a wetness in the underwear. Don’t be alarmed or surprised if you notice a bit of pink or brown blood mixed in with the cervical mucus during very early pregnancy. Cervical mucus will usually turn to a completely white color by week six or so of pregnancy. The reason for the increased cervical mucus in early pregnancy is due to the increased blood flow to the vagina. Hopefully now you know a little bit more about what to expect when it comes to cervical mucus in early pregnancy.

this is long but could be important to you ! both my friend and I have POS (polycystic ovary syndrome) in which it causes our ovaries to carry 18-25 eggs instead of just a few , which also causes our cycle and ovulation time to be different every month…. SO ANNOYING WHEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE!! anyway, ihave been wondering if I am pregnant , got a BFN on my HPT . ialso had a miscarriage last year in May , iwas 8 weeks . when iwas talking to my friend abt this , she told me she didn’t find out til she was pregnant until she was 5 months. she took HPT after another after another , probably good close to 10 , had all types of blood work done etc, all NEGATIVES , until she switched her obgyn and they did an ultrasound… there was her son ! 5 months and luckily very healthy being she wasn’t taking proper pregnancy precautions since she had no idea . the best way to find out is to get an ultra sound…. sometimes HPT and blood work will come back negative due to a hormonal imbalance (like POS) which will offset a positive pregnancy due to not enough hormonal levels. good luck hope this helps !

You could have ovulated earlier than what you might think? You’d only know if you consistently follow natural family planning, or take ovulation tests x

I’m only a day late. But I’m already worried that I’m pregnant… I was trying to use Ovia App to prevent pregnancy, so we didn’t have unprotected sex during the fertile window. However, the app changed my fertile window mid cycle based on data I was entering, which then pushed it back to the days we were having unprotected sex fml.

Symptoms currently, firm, closed cervix (not sure about position) cm creamy, not sticky or dry – I suppose like lotion? I had bad bloating and cramps a week ago, which had disappeared, but now it’s come back, I can’t tell if it’s an early sign of pregnancy, I’ve not had an changes in boobs. If I was pregnant I’d only be three weeks (going from day one of mc)

Can I say that although we aren’t trying to get pregnant, if we were to be then it would be a surprise that we would embrace completely. – I’ve got it in my head that I am – haven’t told partner that I think this – and am getting a little hopeful!!

I unfortunately don’t know. When I came off the implant, it felt like it took a full two cycles to feel like I was having a normal cycle. – hard to explain.

I suppose if you really want to test, then just test? but note it’s better to take a test when you are due your period – I’ve read stories from women who took a test when they were due on, and it wasn’t showing a positive for a up to a few weeks afterwards!

I got my period on 30 march, my cycle is 25 days.. I checked sum ovulation calculators online which predicted my ovulation between 8-11april. We had IC on 6th , 8th ,9th and 12th.. Initially it was all wet and I have been noticing since last week my cm dried and there is very very less white cm.. I did have sum mood swings which is a PMS for me… And no other symptoms.. I usually have back pain when I travel… That is there… This morning I felt a bit bloated.. I am feeling a bit anxious and impatient if I will get the bfp … My relatives are pressurising me… Did anyone have very less symptoms, or no symptoms? Did anyone have dryness and white cm… When should I take the test?

I been having major lower back pain. I didn’t see my self ovulating this month which is so weird, but a few days after my expected day of ovulation, I started to feel like my paid was coming but it wad just watery discharge and very slippery..since then until now my cm have been whitish slippery. My nipples been also itchy. Im expecting my period on 5/3. My cycle is usually between 39-32 days. It that a possible sign that I’m pregnant?

Hello. I just seen this and this has made me feel a little positive. I had ovarian drilling in april I then had a period on que with my normal cycle. I then ovulate normally and tried every other day like its suggested. I then try I mean try and switch off from it all as don’t want to stress. But I was at work one day and just got this awful metal taste in my mouth and this was there constantly for over and week and is there on and off now. I got a positive test very very clear positive on the Friday so two weeks ago. But the they was negative after so I thought I would bleed and could have had a chemical pregnancy. But I haven’t bled and tests still negative. Blood test negative. But I am exhausted which is unlike me, I have no appetite and no bleeding. I am booked in for a routine scan but I won’t get that for a week or so? I’m sooooo confused :(

Hello, I’m 17 years old and the last time I had sex was on May 14. I was expected to get my period on the 22, but it didn’t come. During those days of missed period I took about 3 pregnacy tests and all came out negative. I eventually got my period on the 29, but I’m still very paranoid the fact that I have noticed that I have been producing alot of clear cm. It had not moved positions but it seems like alot. So I took another pregnancy test and if I were to be pregnant I would be 5 weeks. Is this an accurate result?

Ok so ever since I had my mirena out in April of this year, I have been regular(I have never been regular my whole life and I’m 37). I have been tracking my cycles with an app and so far the app has been spot on every month. On the day it says I will ovulate I normally have a large ‘chunk’ of egg white stuff that I pass at some point during that day. I’m assuming this is evidence that I’ve ovulated. So 2 days before I was due to ovulate; we had unprotected sex. So that egg white stuff never came. I have 2 other children and never have I had the egg white or had a regular cycle schedule so this is all new to me. Since I never had the discharge, does that mean I am possibly pregnant???? waiting to test is driving me crazy! LOL

Same happened to me……it was a positive!!! From my understanding even the faintest line is to be considered positive because that means it is detecting the hcg hormone which is only produced when you get pregnant! The tests are made to detect even the smallest amount of hcg. To be absolutely sure I would go to your obgyn and request a hcg blood test.

Yes it is normal. It is the “left over” blood left from previous cycle.

If you have pcos that could be why. It could also be normal PMS symptoms. Have you ever had PMS symptoms before? Dispite what people think pms NOT you period. You get PMS BEFORE a period. That’s why its called PRE menstrual syndrome.

In the right conditions, sperm can last up to five days in a woman’s body. But the typical lifespan is three days.
