Recent studies have shown that staring at a cellphone during the night can lead to issues with your sleep and your health. However, another study is also including fertility into this issue as well. In fact, any form of artificial nighttime light exposure is now being said to affect your fertility and may hinder fetal development if you are pregnant already.
We all know that junk food is not good for our health, but if you are not consuming the right nutrients; zinc, vitamins B6 and D, etc.; it becomes very difficult for you to get pregnant. These nutrients help regulate your reproductive organs and help your body work together as it was intended.
Not only is high cholesterol bad for your heart, it can actually lead to issues with fertility as well. Plus this factor doesn’t just affect the women in the relationship. Studies have shown that men and women both, who have high cholesterol, have a more difficult time getting pregnant than those with normal levels.
None of us like feeling stressed, but it can also be bad for your health as well. Besides causing ulcers and other stress related illnesses, it can also lower your chances of getting pregnant by around 29%. Plus women who have high levels of stress related alpha-amylase levels were almost twice as likely to have infertility issues.
Who knew that our teeth could play a part in fertility? However, studies have now been conducted which indicate that this can play a part in reproductive success. It is best if women, who are trying to get pregnant, take care of their teeth and visit their dentist every six months.
Smoking is bad for our health in more ways than just our lungs and future illnesses. It has also been shown that it causes about 13% of infertility cases. Likewise, those who were exposed to secondhand smoke for more than six hours per day had a 36% chance of having more difficulties in getting pregnant.
Although many believe that it is impossible to get pregnant while breastfeeding, it can still happen. However, it does make it harder to conceive. Studies have shown that women who are still breastfeeding had a lower chance of getting pregnant because of the hormone prolactin. This hormone is produced during breastfeeding and can interfere with your ovulation schedule.
Lubricants can definitely make sex more fun and make it more comfortable. However, many lubricants can also affect fertility. Some have even been shown to affect sperm in such a way as to not allow for conception. If you do need to use a lubricant, it is best to choose one that is sperm friendly.
We all know that being overweight can introduce many health issues into our lives. One potential risk is fertility issues. If you are trying to get pregnant, it is best to maintain a healthy BMI during the process. Studies have shown that women with a larger BMI have a lower chance of getting pregnant.
When you are trying to get pregnant and having difficulties, you are probably ready to try just about anything in order to get pregnant. However, before you try something drastic, it is a good idea to relax and try to change some of the things in your lifestyle.
For best results, discuss your habits and health history with your doctor so that he may be able to make some suggestions as to where changes should be made. It is best to maintain a healthy lifestyle while you are trying to get pregnant and after you do become pregnant, both for your health and the health of your new baby.
