While transvaginal ultrasound will confirm the presence of one fetus or two, you can detect other signs early on too. Some such signs are as follows.

Implantation bleeding is more common in women who are pregnant with twins. Implantation bleeding is the light, pinkish colored bleeding that occurs during the time when the fertilized eggs implant or attach to the uterine lining. In a normal pregnancy, this bleeding is very slight. If you are pregnant with twins, you will have more implantation bleeding. However, if you see any bleeding at all while you are pregnant, you should go to the doctor immediately to rule out any dangers whatsoever.
If you are pregnant with twins or multiples, morning sickness will be very severe for you. Every pregnant lady experiences morning sickness but in the case of twins or multiples, it is worse. Morning sickness is essentially vomiting and the nauseous feeling that you will experience through the first trimester of your pregnancy. Don’t be mistaken by the name because it is a misnomer. Morning sickness can occur in the evenings or at nights too. It has been named morning sickness because most incidences occur in the morning. So if you experience nausea in the evening, know that it is morning sickness only. Morning sickness will subside as you come close to the end of your first trimester and enter your second. Through morning sickness you will feel cravings of food that you never felt before and at the same time you will feel aversion to a few foods. This is completely normal. The only thing is that if you are pregnant with twins or multiples, the feelings will be much stronger. However, if the morning sickness is unbearable, you should see the doctor because too much vomiting can leave you dangerously dehydrated, which is harmful for your unborn baby.
Weight gain is common during pregnancy and if you have twins, you can be sure that you will easily gain about ten pounds of weight in your first trimester itself. This is because of the increase in the size of the uterus and the volume of blood in your body. If you are pregnant with twins, weight gain will also be earlier than a normal single pregnancy.
Since you are carrying two babies instead of one, you will feel more tiredness than a normal pregnancy. You will feel really tired throughout the day and taking a nap during the afternoons will become necessary for you.
You can safely say that with twins, everything will become two fold.
