This treatment involves removing the eggs from the female partner, or using donor eggs, and getting a sperm sample from the male partner, or using donor sperm. After the eggs and sperm become embryos, they are implanted back into the woman's uterus in the hopes that a pregnancy will occur.
One of the most popular fertility treatments is in vitro fertilization. This treatment involves removing the eggs from the female partner, or using donor eggs, and getting a sperm sample from the male partner, or using donor sperm. After the eggs and sperm become embryos, they are implanted back into the woman’s uterus in the hopes that a pregnancy will occur. Unfortunately, many women who are able to become pregnant this way wind up going through a miscarriage down the road. But, there are some things you can do to avoid this type of situation.
The first thing you will want to do when you become pregnant after IVF is to make sure your doctor is superb. Your doctor should be very experienced in pregnancies related to IVF and will need to understand your unique circumstances. In addition to this, they will also need to have a great plan in place that will help keep you and the baby safe and healthy throughout your pregnancy.
For your part, you will need to make sure you schedule all your prenatal appointments and attend them regularly. These appointments may seem meaningless, but they are extremely important. During these visits, your doctor will be measuring your baby, making sure it is growing appropriately and looking at its heart rate. This is also your opportunity to inform your doctor about the symptoms you have been experiencing and learn more about what to expect in the coming months.
Along with seeing your doctor regularly, you will want to make sure you are taking care of your health. This will mean getting rid of every negative thing in your life. Avoid eating unhealthy foods, drinking caffeine and avoiding coming in contact with cigarette smoke. Naturally, avoiding alcohol is also important, but you should always avoid this while you are pregnant.
Exercise is also something you will want to discuss with your doctor. It is a good idea to get some amounts of exercise while you are pregnant, but you should always follow your doctor’s instructions. Some women may need to avoid exercising at all while they are pregnant due to their high-risk nature.
There are definitely some higher risks involved for women who become pregnant after IVF. However, there are also several things you can do to decrease those risks and make it easier to conceive a healthy and happy baby.
