I Want To Get Pregnant: 7 Tips & Tricks

Is your biological clock screaming, "I want to get pregnant!" Check out these 7 tips & tricks to get pregnant now.

“I want to get pregnant!” Yes, but are you ready for this?

Once you have made this decision, it means you must get ready for the next stage in your life (a difficult, but beautiful and rewarding one): being a mom. There are a lot of things to worry about, a lot of plans to do, so you may need a helping hand to make sure you have covered them all, and everything goes as planned. Here is a list of 7 things you need to do once you have decided it is time to get pregnant:

Stop your contraception

Give up birth control pills, Depo Provera or other birth control methods a few months before you plan to get pregnant. This will help your body recover from the hormone effect, making it primed for pregnancy. The chemical contraception actually has a residual effect in your body, and even once stopping the treatment, it still may take many months to regain full fertility. So do keep this in mind.

When do you ovulate

Find out when your ovulating period starts. It is essential to know the exact time, or else your efforts of getting pregnant will be useless. There are special ovulation predictor kits that will help you accurately establish when the best time to try is.

Lifestyle changes

Now is the time to take a look at your lifestyle and begin making some healthy changes. Partying, drinking alcohol or smoking can cause infertility, and, if pregnancy does occur, you should think of how much damage these bad habits can do to your child’s health. This stands true for your partner as well (the infertility part, of course).

Strive for an ideal weight

Take care of your weight. Not only will it help you get pregnant faster, but it will also keep you healthy during pregnancy. There are special exercises for mothers-to-be that will keep them fit and make it easier for them during birth and immediately after. But be aware not to overdo diet or exercise, as studies have shown that slightly overweight women have an easier time getting pregnant than their slightly underweight counterparts.

Begin taking prenatals

Ask your doctor for prenatal supplements or look at your local drug store for an over the counter prenatal vitamin. Your doctor may recommend you to take them even before getting pregnant and then during the pregnancy period. Multivitamins will increase the chances to get pregnant and will ensure that your baby will be healthy.

Early to bed, early to rise

Have enough rest. After the baby is coming, you will have plenty of sleepless nights, so it is best if you take care of yourself, both physically and mentally. Avoid stress because it is also known to cause infertility. Now is the time to curb those late nights, and make sure you take the time you need for a healthy & restful night’s sleep.

Preconception check-up

Go for a preconception check up. You need to make sure your body is ready for the new changes and that everything works perfectly fine to bring out a healthy baby.

Only after you have checked this list, you will know that you are ready, so you can cry out again: I want to get pregnant!

I have been married for over 5 1/2 years now. I use to have regular period and now i dont. I use to take birth control pills but stopped like 2 1/2 years now. Last year i got my period in July and then in December and havent seen it since. A couple times I had sex with my husband and after he pulled out, there was blood all over. Still no period but bleeding after intercourse. IN 2008 my doc did an ultra sound and found cyst. Could that be the reason i am not getting a period. I dont have health insurance anymore so i was wondering if I use this product, can I get pregnant even though i dont have regular periods?? I really want to have at least one baby and i have no idea what else to do…

Irregularities in the menstrual cycle make conception more difficult, because the day when the woman suffering from such menstrual disorders starts ovulating also becomes unpredictable. The ConceiveEasy TTC Kit helps to regulate the menstrual cycle, which means that the rhythm of ovulation can also become predictable, making it possible to calculate fertile periods.

Diabetes is one of the best examples of how preconception preparation and control of a disease can make a huge difference in a pregnancy’s outcome. You can aim to achieve normal glycosolated hemoglobin levels (an indicator of blood sugar control) before conception, and then manage your diet carefully and monitor your glucose levels carefully and frequently. Taking folic acid supplements will help as well. I would also recommend to have your doctor work with you so you can discuss your fertility options and check your overall health.
