Trying to conceive a boy? A girl? Vaginal PH testing and changing your diet to make your vagina more acidic or alkalinic, can assist when using gender prediction while trying yo conceive.
Okay, so the chances are, if you are not trying to conceive, you have never heard of vaginal PH, and you probably really don’t care about the acidity or alkalinity of your vagina. But, oh, once you start trying to conceive! The crazy things we do for babies! Well, here is the lowdown on what vaginal PH means, and how to test it. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here
Vaginal PH is either acidic or alkaline. The wives’ tales say that if your vaginal PH is more acidic, you will be more likely to have a girl, and if your vaginal PH is more alkalinic, you will be more likely to have a boy. You can test your vaginal PH at home, and if it isn’t “right” for which gender you would like to conceive, you can usually easily change it through diet. Now, of course, vaginal PH and gender determination are old wives’ tales, and there is no evidence that this actually works. However, plenty of women swear by this, and it isn’t harmful to your or your baby to be if you want to try to change your PH yourself! So, why not try it?
You can test your PH levels at home, and it’s super easy. You can either purchase just the test strips or a digital test kit. These are readily available online, but you should also be able to find them in your local drug store, and sometimes in a health/nutrition store in your area.
The testing process itself is super easy. All you do is gather some cervical mucus and place it on the test strip. Now, here’s what you need to know. A vaginal PH of between 4 and 4.5 is ideal for conceiving a girl, while a vaginal PH of between 7.5 to 9 is perfect for conceiving a boy (or so they say).
If you need to lower your PH to increase your chances of having a girl, you can do so by eating certain foods. Some of the foods known to lower PH include eating lots of calcium rich foods, and fruits like strawberries and raspberries. You are advised to stay away from salt, sodium rich foods, caffeine, and also alcohol if you are trying to lower your PH.
Now, on the other side of the spectrum, if you want to conceive a boy, you need to raise your PH levels. This involves increasing your salt and sodium intake and eating lots of acidic foods. You can also increase your PH levels by eating lots of acidic fruits.
Of course, it is important to remember that all of this PH testing and swaying for gender stuff should be done in fun, since there are no guarantees that what you are trying is going to work. If you aren’t prepared to get pregnant with a baby of either gender, you probably shouldn’t be getting pregnant, because it might not work out the way you want it to. That being said, PH testing and changing your diet, etc to affect your PH levels is not harmful, and if it is something that you want to do, go right ahead. Just don’t put all of your eggs into the PH level basket!
