HCG Shots and Infertility

HCG is often called the "pregnancy hormone" and sometimes HCG is used as a form of fertility treatment.

HCG is often called the “pregnancy hormone.” It is the hormone that the placenta secretes during pregnancy, and it is also the hormone that pregnancy tests use to determine if you are pregnant. Sometimes HCG is used as a form of fertility treatment. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

hCG injections

When you have a mature egg follicle in your ovary, an hCG injection can release that egg to mature and be released. hCG causes ovulation to happen within 36 hours of receiving the injection. This can be really helpful in fertility treatments. Sometimes the hCG injections are given on their own, or as a part of another form of fertility treatment like IUI or IVF. Using hCG along with other forms of fertility treatments can help your doctor better determine when your egg will be released and help them to time your sexual intercourse, egg retrieval, or artificial insemination better.

Most common side effects

Your doctor will be able to determine when there is already a mature egg follicle in your ovary through careful monitoring. You might receive ultrasounds, and you will be carefully monitored to determine when it is just the right time to receive your hCG injection. There are a few side effects that are sometimes related to taking hCG injections, but they are usually not severe. Some of these side effects include breast problems such as tenderness, pain, or swelling. You also might retain fluid and begin to gain a little weight. Depression, mood swings and irritability are also common side effects due to the hormone changes in your body when taking hCG injections. There is also a condition known as Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome that is associated with hCG injections. Doctors say that somewhere around one fourth of all women who take hCG injections will develop some sort of OHS, although it usually goes away on its own in about a week or so. OHS can include symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and a general feeling of discomfort.

hCG shot and false positive results

Please remember to keep in mind that hCG is the “pregnancy hormone” and it is the hormone that shows up on all pregnancy tests. This means that if you take a pregnancy test before the hCG injection has had enough time to get out of your system, you can get a positive test result when you are not actually pregnant. You have to make sure to wait at least two weeks for all of the hCG hormone from the shot to get out of your body completely, or you will risk getting a false positive result that will only cause you pain and worry.

Getting pregnant with PCOS is not easy, but it is possible. You can start by minimizing your PCOS symptoms by keeping a healthy weight through healthy eating habits and regular exercise. It is also recommended that you visit your doctor so you may be given options on how you to get pregnant faster while you have PCOS. You may be given the option to take fertility pills but you can opt to try to conceive naturally.

Hi, my fiancé and I are TTC. The Fertility doctor said all my tests were good, I am 44, he said my levels were similar to a 35 year old. Then he said my fiancé had a 30 million sperm count with low motility. Ok do my question is, if I am ovulating regularly, I am very regular and in my family menopause does not come until 60+ years old… Why was I prescribed clomid and nothing was said about helping my fiancé with his sperm problem? Thanks

Giventhat regular ovulation cycles cannot simply guarantee your chances of getting pregnant, your fertility specialist most likely prescribed you to take Clomid in order to induce your ovulation and boost your body’s fertility. Your fertility specialist might have not prescribed anything for your husband’s sperm motility, since medical treatments available for this are very limited, which only include IVF and ICSI.

Is there a certain time of day that is best for an hcg injection?

There are no restrictions when it comes to the best time of the day to take an HCG injection. Any time of the day would be fine to take an HCG injection, as long as it is convenient for the patient.

Yes; given that hCG or human Chronic Gondatropin shots triggers ovulation 36 to 48 hours after the last shot, there is a good chance that these shots can boost your chances of getting pregnant. hCG shots is an effective fertility medication that can facilitate pregnancy by sustaining the levels of progesterone.

I took a pregnancy test every day from the time I got my HCG shot Novarel and on day 6 the test cam up negative as if the shot was put of my system, then on Wednesday the very next day up until today I’m getting very faint positive HPT .. Could this still be the hcg shot even though it showed it was out of my system the one day or could it possible be I’m pregnant? I am 6 days until my period is supposed to start and I ovulated on day 10?

The sex of the baby cannot be determined until about 14-16 weeks into your pregnancy through a sonogram. Although it would be best to wait until you’re about 18-20 weeks just to cut down on a mistaken sonogram.

My husband and I desperately would like to have another baby, my daughter is turning 2 and we have never used any type of protection…after 2 years and no other pregnancy I’m starting to worry…my cycle is sorta irregular changing from 24-32 days all the time so I can never pinpoint my ovulation. Could this hcg shot help me finally conceive?
