It's not just being overweight that can be a potential fertility blocker. Being underweight can have potentially harmful effects on fertility as well. To sum it all up, anytime your weight is too high or too low, it messes with all of your hormones and causes them to be out of whack.

Something that most women don’t realize is that weight and fertility go hand in hand. In some cases, women who are overweight or obese are actually up to twenty percent more likely to have trouble conceiving as compared to women who are at an ideal body weight. For women who are overweight or obese, losing weight can be one of the biggest helps to fertility.  Experts agree that for women who are overweight or obese, losing as little as five to ten percent of body weight can actually go a long way towards “resetting” the body and giving fertility a boost. Eating a healthy diet full of whole grains, fruits, veggies, lean meats and dairy products can go a long way towards improving fertility. Junk foods, processed foods and sugary snacks can really be a detriment to fertility so make sure to avoid those things if possible. You have to be very careful with what you put in your body when you are trying to conceive, so make sure that you are always on guard and eating right. It can be hard at times to be vigilant when it comes to eating right, having proper nutrition and exercising, especially when you are stressed about trying to conceive, but you have to stay strong in this journey.

It’s not just being overweight that can be a potential fertility blocker. Being underweight can have potentially harmful effects on fertility as well. To sum it all up, anytime your weight is too high or too low, it messes with all of your hormones and causes them to be out of whack. This can in turn wreak havoc on your fertility, and make getting pregnant really difficult. This is why it is so important to keep your weight at an ideal healthy level. Eating right and making sure to get enough exercise can go a long way towards keeping your weight in control.
