Getting Pregnant After Tubal Ligation

Tubal ligation is the surgical procedure of making a woman permanently infertile. However, sometimes women change their minds and seek to reverse the procedure to try to get pregnant after tubal ligation.

Tubal ligation is the surgical procedure that is performed in women, in order to prevent them from getting pregnant. Although it is seen as having permanent effects, some women change their mind and consider having a child. Getting pregnant after tubal ligation is very hard, but not impossible. If you are among those who consider this option, here is a list with 5 things you should do in order to make it happen. Claim Your 20 Free Pregnancy Tests – Click Here

Be mentally prepared

Mental preparation is a stage that precedes every important event in your life. You must get used to the idea of being pregnant again, and you must think about the fact that you have to undergo another surgical procedure, the reversal of the tubal ligation. Also, you must be mentally prepared in case you do not conceive in the first few months following the reversal procedure. Sometimes, getting pregnant again can take years.

Talk to a physician

You must talk to a specialist about the tubal ligation reversal, what this procedure involves and how much it costs. The specialist establishes if there are any risks for your health and recommends you the most suitable alternative. You have to think about the eventuality of spending a few days in the hospital, under strict medical supervision.

Being healthy to get pregnant

Getting pregnant after tubal ligation involves a lot of other things, besides a successful reversal procedure. For instance, you must have a healthy and balanced diet, which includes a lot of fruits and vegetables. Other sources of nutrients and vitamins, such as eggs, low-fat milk and cheese, lean meat and fish must also be consumed as part of your daily meals. This way, you prepare your body for the changes that occur during the pregnancy.

Physical exercises

Eating healthy is sometimes not enough. You must also do some physical exercise, in order to maintain your body in the best of shape. Running or performing other types of low difficulty exercises for 30 minutes daily brings also important benefits for your general state of health.

Increase his sperm count

The fertility of your partner is another important aspect when it comes to conceiving a child, so you have to convince him to do some things that are very helpful in increasing the sperm count naturally. Besides avoiding the excessive consumption of coffee and alcohol, he must also wear comfortable, loose underwear. Staying away from sports like baseball, cycling or horse riding and avoiding hot baths and saunas are other ways to improve fertility in men, so you must ask your partner to respect at least some of these recommendations.

Follow these pieces of advice and you will have better chances to conceive after tubal ligation.

Hi I’m 44 years old and I had a tubal ligation 23 years ago after the birth of my second child.  My periods are consistent and always on time.  I had my last normal period on 10/20/12 and my next due date was 11/12/12.  My period spotted on 11/12 and on 11/13 it was gone.  I had intercourse with my boyfriend on 10/31/12. I tried taking a pregnancy test but it came back negative as I think was too early.  My next period is due 12/5/12 and I have scheduled a doctor’s appoint for 12/10/12.  The only symptom I’ve experienced is my breast are still sore.  Normally, they are sore prior to the start of my period but they were still tender after the spotting.  I don’t know what’s going on and I am scared.

If you are experiencing breast tenderness after your menstrual period, it indicates that your body is producing sufficient level of what we call estrogen hormone. If you think that what you feel is caused by a hormonal imbalance then, having an appointment with your doctor to check your reproductive health is the best option you’ve made.

Tubal ligation is considered a permanent birth control method however, you may want to talk to your doctor about the possibility of having a tubal ligation reversal. Once you have the surgery done, then it is now possible for you to try and have another baby. The chances of you conceiving will increase as your tubes heal after the surgery.

Hello, I am a 34 year old woman who is trying to conceive after a tubal. I had my tubal in 2001 after my second child was born. My doctor said he put a clamp on my tubes. I am healthy enough to conceive andI wonder if I can get pregnant again without surgery and how. Any advice is appreciated.
